Embrace a Space of Transformation

Meet Your New Counselor

Sarah Velasquez, LPC Associate

Supervised by Elizabeth Landry, LPC Supervisor

If you're here, you've probably been carrying something that feels heavy for a long time. Maybe you're struggling with the effects of past trauma, finding yourself stuck in the same relationship patterns, or feeling exhausted from always putting everyone else first. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don't have to figure it out alone.

As a Lubbock native and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, I believe healing begins with feeling safe, understood, and accepted. Building trust takes time, and therapy is no different than any meaningful relationship—it starts one conversation at a time.

My goal isn't to tell you who to become. It's to help you reconnect with the person you've always been beneath the survival strategies. Together, we'll create a space where you can explore your experiences, build practical tools for change, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, connected, and meaningful. Reaching out for therapy takes courage, and I'd be honored to be part of your healing journey.

My Approach

I have completed Level One EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training and integrate EMDR with other evidence-based approaches to help clients process traumatic experiences and replace painful beliefs with healthier, more adaptive ones. While EMDR is one tool I use, I believe therapy should always be tailored to your unique needs, goals, and pace.

In addition to trauma recovery, I enjoy working with adults navigating relationship challenges, boundary setting, life transitions, and the lasting impact of childhood experiences. Healthy relationships—with ourselves and with others—are often at the heart of a fulfilling life, and I'm passionate about helping clients build them.
